Emma loves Sammy who loves Cyril who loves him too. What could have been a romantic love triangle at the end of the last century will be disrupted by the upcoming of AIDS. Even as they expected the worst, the destiny of each character will take an unexpected turn.

* This screening is dedicated to the memory of Pedro Silvério Marques, an HIV activist who passed away last March. Pedro was a founding member of Abraço and GAT. His tireless work in combating stigma and discrimination and defending the rights of people with HIV and viral hepatitis was instrumental in the creation of the Centro Anti-Discriminação VIH e sida in 2010. The screening is also a tribute to all those who, like Pedro, have marked and enriched our lives in the face of the HIV pandemic.

Gaël Morel grew up in a village in the Lyon region. He earned a Most Promising Actor César nomination for his part in André Techiné's “Wild Reeds”. His first short film, “La vie à rebours”, won the Kodak Prize at the Directors’ Fortnight, and his first feature, “Full Speed,” was presented at Cannes in the Cinémas en France section. His second feature, shot in Algeria, “Under Another Sky”, won the International Critics’ Award at the Toronto Film Festival. His third feature, “Three Dancing Slaves”, was co-written with Christophe Honoré. His fourth feature, “After Him”, premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight. Morel also directed “Family, You Hate Me”, a documentary. “To Live, to Die, to Live Again” premiered in the Cannes Première section.
